Solar Panel Reuse
Not every solar panel that is removed from a solar installation needs to be recycled immediately. Modules that are still suitable for operation can potentially be tested, sorted and prepared for a second life.
For solar reuse specific projects, Aerisoul evaluates incoming photovoltaic modules to assess their condition and performance before they are prepared for reuse. This approach can extend the useful life of suitable panels, reduce unnecessary waste and provide a cost-effective option for selected solar projects.
The reuse process depends on condition and performance of each module, as well as applicable quality, safety and certification requirements.
PV Module Reuse Policy
Aerisoul treats recycling and reuse as two separate processes. Modules received for recycling are always recycled and are never diverted for reuse.
PV modules are considered for testing and potential second-life use only when the customer specifically requests reuse as part of the project. In these cases, the modules are assessed individually to determine whether they are suitable for reuse based on their condition, performance and applicable requirements.
Where reuse has not been specifically requested, the modules proceed through our standard recycling process.
Step One:
Collection & Transportation
We coordinate the collection and transportation of used or removed solar modules from your site to our facility for assessment and testing.
Step Two:
PV Module Testing & Assessment
We assess incoming modules individually to evaluate their condition, performance and suitability for reuse. Modules are sorted according to their test results and applicable quality and safety requirements.
Step Three:
Preparation & Second-Life Reuse
Modules that meet the required criteria are sorted, prepared and packaged for their second life. Suitable panels can then be supplied for reuse in appropriate solar applications.
